Crochet Samples to pouches

Hello all

Hope all r having a wonderful weekend. I am also happy because I have two crochet finishes in my hand.

In the school of crochet there are so many stitches I wanted to learn.  One is V-stitch and one Saturday evening I tried it with two colors and I like the way it turned out.  So crocheted another piece of it and at that time my little one came to me asked ma what r u going to do with it? And I asked shall I make a pencil pouch out of it.  He happily agreed to it and that sample became a pouch.

Then my elder one asked a pouch for him and tried this wavy pattern using tapestry crochet.  It took two evenings to do this pouch.  I didn't line it since the tapestry crochet is made of single crochet and it makes a thick fabric with no space.  But the zipper part I find it somewhat difficult and it was not perfect.  But my son was happy with it.

Both the pouches together.

You can see my previous attempt in tapestry crochet here.

What I learned with tapestry pouch  is, it will be better for a sling bag which needs no zipper.  Next time I will try a sling bag.  Now I am happy with this attempt.

I have completed neckline embroidery for a kurti.  I am eagerly waiting to post it.  I will be posting it along with my free embroidery design for next month.  So do watch my space.

Now on my embroidery hoop is the fairy for the smalls SAL.  I will be posting it on Tuesday hopefully.  That's all for now.  Bye.

Have a happy crafty time.

Granny Square Cushion and Mega cross stitch update

Hello all

Today I am here to show you my granny square cushion and an update in the Mega cross project.  I crocheted these granny squares when I aimlessly sit after doing the house hold chores.  Last year I have done these and when I was cleaning my craft shelves last month I got these squares and I have decided to make it into a cushion and luckily it fits one of my cushion in my home.  And now the granny square cushion in born.

I have done granny squares with 5 rounds and bordered with 2 rounds of sc's.  Then joined from the back using slip stitch.   For the back of the cushion I done rows of dc's.

For the opening I have sewed pink color buttons.

Also, I have completed three more cushion covers last year. But for the back I am in a confusion  whether to crochet or to sew onto the the fabric cover.  Will show it once it is completed.

Now onto my mega cross stitch project.  I have completed one more page and I am happy to see a kitten face.

After. Here I am not showing the right side of the project.  I have rolled and pinned it to keep the project from getting dirty.

Before

When I complete the next page the face of the dog will be come to the screen.  Eagerly waiting for that.

I have started an embroidery kurti project and a granny a day project for a crochet blanket.  Apart from these two crochet purses are waiting for a zipper attachment.  By this weekend I will complete the purses.

That's all for now.  waiting for your feedback and comments.  Have a happy weekend.

Smalls SAL - January, Black and white Quilt blocks

Hello all

January is going to end and this month my crafting time was going as per my schedule and I have managed to finish a couple of things.  Last year I have participated in two cross stitch SALs , Smalls SAL hosted by stitching lotus and rainbow sal   from Connigeedesigns.  I managed to be on time till may for the smalls SAL and I have stitched only two months charts in the rainbow sal.   So I thought I will continue with those WIPs this year.

For the last years Smalls SAL I was stitching LucieHeaton fairies and luckily I have saved all the charts when they r free to download.  Now it is not free.  For this month I continued to stitch the June fairy and added the backstitched words "Be strong".

So far I have stitched  6 fairies and 6 more to go to complete the piece.

I am linking this post to Smalls SAL 2018 - January.  Ha ha I managed to join the link party in the last moment.

In the beginning of this year I have bought fabrics to make a black and white half square triangle blocks quilt.  I am doing 1 block per week on Thursday.  So far I have completed the four blocks for January.  Though they are not perfect I like it.  Framing the blocks will be done in red color.

I am following this site  to do the blocks.  I have cut  many squares at a time make half square triangles out those squares whenever I feel to sew.  Then on every week Thursday I will be following the block pattern and sew the block.

I am happy to say that I am going to finish another page in my mega cross stitch project.  Hope to show that page in my next post.  Some cross stitch cushions and a purse is in the queue to get showcased here.  So do watch my space.

Happy cross stitching and happy quilting.
