Crocheted green doily

This doily pattern was in my to do list for a longggggggggggggggggggggg time.  The pattern was free and it was from freepatterns.com.  The name given to this doily is Christmas Amaryllis doily. I have seen this in some blogs crocheted by the doily lovers.

Here i have used the pearl cotton thread no.8 green color.  This is the first time i am crocheting a doily with thread. While crocheting I didn't get the proper shaper. But after blocking I was happy to see the shape with pineapples.  But on the blocking side I didn't do a perfect job.  The edges are not that much perfect.  Try to block once more. Now have a look at my greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen doily.

Today I was happy for one more reason that is, I have found out the option for compressing the image files from MB to Kb.  And today all the three images got uploaded within the blink of my eye.  I used to edit my pictures using ms paint. But now I am using Microsoft Office Picture manager to do this.

In my next post I will come up with a small embroidered project. So do watch my space. Till then,Happy Crocheting.

  3. Beautiful doily Shami! I have taught myself the basic crochet stitches but the items I put together are often not what they are supposed to be. Your pineapple pattern looks perfect and I guess blocking is an important step. Glad you found a computer tip allowing you to more quickly upload your photos. Thanks also for visiting my blog. I hadn't been here for awhile and your posts are always so inspiring.
