Kutch Embroidery - Tutorial 3

Today I am happy to share the next tutorial.  Here I will be showing the step by step procedure for stitching the continuous diamonds in kutch work.

Let us work on the foundation part first.

Start at point 1.  Come out at point 1.

In at 2

Over, under, over(through 3, 4,5)

Under, over, under(through 6,7,8)

Over, under, over(through 9,10,11)

Under, over, under(through 12,13,14) 

Over, under(through 15,16)

Over, under(through 17,18)

Over, under, over(through 19,20,21)

Under, over, under(through 22,23,24)

Over, under, over(through 25,26,27)

Under, over, under(through 28,29,30)

Over, under(through 31 and 32)

The foundation is now complete and now we will move on to the interlacing part.

Come out at the pointed corner.

Pass the thread under.

Bolded parts are imaginary that are lines to be formed afterwards.

Continue in the same way till the last corner

Continue as above till the last corner

Over, under, over, under, over.

Finish at the starting point.  

We have completed stitching the continuous diamonds in kutch work.  In my next tutorial I will come up with a simple motif which can be used in various projects.
