Aari embroidery - A beginning

Some years back my DH bought two needles when i asked him to get crochet needles.  At that time i didn't know the purpose of that needle. only last year i came to know that it is for doing aari embroidery.  From that time onwards i am trying my hands now and then practicing the aari embroidery chain stitch.  But i didn't succeed.  I gave up at that time.  Then again i was impressed by the aari embroidery done on the blouses and decided to try again.

  I practiced, practiced and practiced.  Uff....  And finally i got the flow of doing the aari embroidery chain stitch.  But not in a fast pace but in a normal speed. These are the two samples I have done.  But I have the problem of ending the chain. sometimes i am able to end it properly but some other times after ending it the thread is getting frogged.  But somehow i have managed to do these samples and now i am having a hope that by practice i can get it right.  Have a look at the samples and do pass on your comments.

I should try more and more and I have decided to do some embroidery in a blouse before the end of this year.  Wish me good luck.  I will come up with another piece of embroidery soon.  Till then, happy embroidering.

Kasuti Embroidered blouse

Recently I have embroidered this blouse using kasuti embroidery in a silk cotton fabric.  I have used 3 strands of anchor embroidery thread no.362. Embroidery has been done on the back neck, border in the back and then for the border in the sleeves.  Used flexi net to do the embroidery and removed the net.  do have a look and tell me how it is.

Thinking of adding stones.What do u think? Waiting for suggestions.  In my next post i will be coming up with one more embroidered piece.  So till then, happy embroidering.

Maybelle flower craze

While going through the crocheting blogs months back i came across a flower called maybelle flower with its pattern.  I like it very much coz u can crochet a flower within minutes.I tried and it turned really beautiful.  After that whenever I was in a mood not knowing what to do, I used to crochet these flowers and i came with the few home decor items with it.

Sorry for the poor photography skill.  I am crocheting another one with single color and I ran out of yarn in the end .  Now I am not getting the exact color.  So all of you wish me good luck to get the yarn.  

In my coming posts I will be showing you some of my embroidery projects. Before that have look at the WIP. This is a small sample i have tried before doing it in a big one.
