Overylayed Threaded Chain Stitch - Embroidery Stitch Tutorial

Hi all

Hope all are doing good.  In my embroidery Stitch tutorial series, today I am happy to share with you the step by step tutorial for doing overlayed threaded chain stitch.

For this tutorial we should be know how to do chain stitch.   Here I have done the base chain stitch row using 4 strands of thread.

• For the overlaying part I have chosen a contrast colour thread with 6 strands.  
• Bring the thread up at one end of the chain stitch.
• Pass the thread through the chain loop from inside the chain without the picking the fabric.  I have started to pass the needle facing upwards. 

Now pass the needle through the next chain loop with the needle facing downwards. 

Repeat the same alternating the direction of the needle in each chain loop.

Simple running stitch border design 3

 Hi all

Hope all are doing well and good.  Today I am happy to share with you a simple border design that uses the stepped running stitch as the base and a weaving around the base stitches to form a flower border.

This is a picture heavy post.  I hope the pictures explains more clearly than the explanation.

Start with three rows of stepped running stitches.

Bring the needle up at one end of the last row 

 

For the weaving pass the thread under the base stitches without picking the fabric.

Kasuti Embroidery Border Design

 Hi all

Hope all are doing well and good. After starting my YouTube channel I get some requests to do video on kasuti and Kutch works. So I thought I share a simple border first and then move on to complex motifs. 

This is one border design that is stitched on black colour silk cotton fabric.   I have used 3 strands of thread.  This design can be used as borders in Kurtis and sarees. It can also be altered to form a neck design.  Do try your hands in this traditional embroidery and let me know your feedback’s in the comments section.

Hope all are doing well and good.  Last week I have posted an embroidery design that uses herringbone stitch flowers.  Today I am happy to share with you the tutorial video for the same.  If you are interested to see how the design takes its form kindly watch the video below.

Herringbone stitch flower embroidery design

Hope all are doing well and good.  Whenever I search or think of an embroidery design for a particular stitch, always flower designs attract me.  Herringbone bone stitch is one stitch that suits well for flowers. It is a nice filling stitch that can be made quickly. Sometime back I have embroidered a simple design using this stitch.  You can view it here.

Again I have tried my hands in the same stitch with a design that can be used for Kurtis and sarees.  I am so happy to share with you now. Come have a look.

Kutch Embroidery Border Design - Video tutorial with pattern

Hope all eare doing well and good.  Already I have posted some basic tutorials for doing kutch embroidery.  You can view it here.  Today I am happy to share with you another border design that extends the basic shapes and motifs. 

This design can be used as a border for kurtis and sarees.  It can also be altered for doing necklines also.  I am halfway in drawing this design for neckline.  Once completed I will post it here.  

I have not done the picture tutorial for this design.  If you are new to kutch work kindly go through the part 1 tutorial.  Video tutorial is also available there. Now let us move on to the design.
