Messy to classy - The green family

Initially when I started doing embroidery I had only few colors like green, red, orange, blue, black, white, pink etc.  I had only one shade in all the colors and I am not aware that so many shades are available.  I came to know about different shades in a single color after started doing cross stitch.  After that I started collecting different shades of thread. Then  I used to store it in a plastic box(1 box for each color) and every time I used to take out all the threads to search a particular shade.  This year I have decided to arrange all the threads  according to numbers and to make me do it, Preeti is hosting a messy to classy link party.  So I have decided each month I should arrange a part of my craft space and craft item and soon I should have a neat craft space and neatly arranged craft items.

So, this month I have arranged all my green shades of embroidery threads in a thick calendar sheet and Placed it in a cardboard box so that I can accomodate 4 to 5 family of color threads in a single box, thus reducing the number of plastic boxes.  So here is my arrangement and let my photos speak to you.

CAL Progress

Today I am here to show you my progress in both the CALs.

Sophie's Garden
----------------------
I have completed sophie's garden till part8(rounds 62 - 68).In this part I like making of ruffle flowers. Haven't blocked it but somehow managed to take a snap by pinning it.  The long sides are becoming shorter and the short sides are becoming longer taking the shape of a square.

My attempt for growing a flower pot at home always fail.  But now I am able to grow  different flowers in my blanket. Lol.

Mystery CAL -( Week 3- week 5)
---------------------------------------------
After week 3(rounds 3 and 4 has been done with pink and blue colors)

After Week 4 (round 5 - a square has been formed)

After week 5( a small 3d flower like thing has been added in the centre)

I am happy that I've been able to crochet along with these groups.  I have made some progress in the embroidery of my saree too.  Will try to give an update about in my next post.  Till then, Happy crocheting.

Small SAL - february, CAL progress

This year with the idea of stitching the small cross stitch charts I am participating in the Small SAL 2015 hosted by Heather of stitching Lotus. I have joined only on February and I have managed to stitch this small may-bright flower from rainbow gallery.  You can find the chart here.  I have planned to change this piece into a fridge magnet.  Now over to the stitched piece.

I have stitched this on 14ct Aida with 2 strands of embroidery thread.
