Embroidery Design - Coral Stitch

 Hi all

Hope all are doing well.  Thanks for your response for my previous post.  Today I am happy to share with you a new embroidery design that uses the coral stitch which is a very easy one.

Coral stitch can be used to stitch along the lines.Fancy and Perfect stitch for outlines  It takes nice shape along the curves also.  It belongs to the knots family of stitches.  It looks like the knots are sitting next to each other.  It is also known as German knot or snail trail.

Tutorial for Coral stitch.

Now lets move on to the design.

Pattern for the design
I have used anchor thread no. 28 with 4 strands of thread.

Tomorrow I will post the tutorial for doing the coral stitch.  So do watch my space and have a happy time with needle and thread.

Lockdown Project - Canvas Art

 Hi all

Today I am happy to share with you two projects we have done as a family during the lockdown period last year.  This is a very simple one. I have used canvas board, acrylic paints, masking tape and mod podge.  I will try to create a tutorial for this soon.

Now and then I will share crafts which I do to get instant satisfaction.  Because embroidery projects take long time and so in between to avoid monotony I do crafts other than embroidery.

That's all for today.  In my next post I will come up with my next embroidery stitch design. Till then, have a nice day.

Zentangle - WIRLZ - How to draw

 Hi all

Hope all are doing well.  Yesterday I have posted a zentangle pattern called WIRLZ.  Here is the tutorial how to draw it.  It is a very simple drawing made only with curved lines.  The finished drawing will be

Start with a 4" x 4" square. Use black gel pen or Pigma micron pens

Start with one corner.  Draw a small curve, the second curve should start from the same point as the first and end at the same point but the length should be longer.
Continue in the same way till there are 6 lines or 8 lines.  If the space you are drawing is smaller then finish with 6 lines.  Other wise you can go for more lines.  Here I have completed the first set with 6 lines. Now we will move on to make the second set.

I have started the second set to the left of the first one.  You can start any where and have repeated the same steps.

Third set has been started between the first and the second ones.  Here I have completed it with 8 lines.

Fourth set has be done between the first and the third.  Now there is a small gap between the first and the fourth sets.  Fill that gap.  Fill these gaps now and then.  Otherwise there is a chance to miss some of these gaps.

Proceed in the same way and we have reached 3/4 of the are to be filled.

Complete area is covered.  Now you can color it as per your wish.   You can save the picture as .jpg in your system and print it out.

You can view all my posts related to Zentangle here.

That's all for now.  Next Wednesday I will come up with the next pattern in zentangle and on thursday the tutorial for that.

Zentangle - WIRLZ

 Hi all,

Hope all doing well.  Thanks you for your response in my previous post french knot design and its tutorial.  Hope all of you like it.

Today I am very happy to share with your new series on Zentangle. I came to know about the zentangle art in the year 2015.  For those who are not good at drawing or painting, zentangle is a gift which consists of geometric designs, lines, curves, circles which forms a beautiful piece of drawing.  There are a numerous patterns in zentangle and I have tried my hands in some patterns and created some pieces out of zentangle.  You can view all those works here.

Last Year I have tried to make a border design with zentangle patterns with the bible verses inside.  It is very relaxing to do.  After drawing the patterns playing with color pencils is another mind relaxing process.  It takes me back to my school days where I use only 12 colors.  And now I have a color pencil pack with 48 colors and it is like a toy for me.  Whenever I feel bored I used to pick up that pack and created these borders and I have come up with 6 designs.

Today I am going to show you the first design.

The name of the pattern is WIRLZ.  I will be framing this later.  I have used green, orange, yellow and purple colour pencils to colour it.  To draw this pattern I have used ordinary black gel pen.  But nowadays I am using micron pens to draw zentangle patterns.

And the tutorial for creating this pattern will be posted tomorrow.  I have created a coloring page for this pattern without the verse.  So do watch my space.  Till then, Happy zentangling.

Mandala Doodle

 Hi all,

Hope all are safe and doing good.  Today I am happy to share with you my latest creation in doodling.  Few years back I was doodling a lot and was trying my hands in zentangle.  It is a relaxing art which I love to do.  But after that i was very much into embroidery and cross stitch and now and then I tried some zentangle patterns.  I have six patterns to show with you.  But I will blog about it later.

Drawing a mandala is an art related to doodling.  One fine afternoon I took an A4 paper and black gel pen, drawn some guidelines with compass, protracter and scale and this is what I ended after 4 hours.  It took me another an hour to color it.  Coloring done with color pencils.  I like it very much.

Do have a look and give your feed backs.  I wanted to record the process from the beginning but because of lack of time I am not into it.  If time permits I will try to do a tutorial on drawing a mandala.

You can see my other creations on doodling and zentangle here.

I am ready with a new embroidery stitch and design for that.  So do watch my space.  Till then, happy doodling.
