Again I have come up with my chikan design which I am embroidering all over the front part of my kurti.  Border portion is also completed.  Do have a look.  Give your comments as they boost me up a lot.

Chikankari Neck design

In one of my previous post I have shown u a chikan motif which I have embroidered for the border for a kurti.  And today I have completed the neck part.  I have used the same motif which I have used for the border with some changes. Sorry for not ironing the fabric. Here it is.  Have a look and given u'r comments.  The border motif which I have done earlier is here.

 

Chikankari Embroidery motif

I have started to do a project on my kurti using chikankari design.  I have completed one motif at the bottom.  I have used double back stitch, Eyelet stitch, Detached chain variation and satin stitch.  There are specific name for these stitches in chikankari but I have given the english names.  In the coming posts I will be giving details about this work.

Chikankari Embroidery - Kurti

This is the embroidered chikan motif which I have embroidered recently.  It is for a kurti top and it has three motif one above the other with regular intervals. 

Here, is the closeup of the motif.

Flowers are done using Bhakya stitch(double herringbone stitch), Stems using Rahet(stem stitch) and the tiny circles using Rozan(Eyelet stitch).

Chikankari lessons continues

This is the last lesson of Chikankari classes by Anita of ww w.artisticfingers.blogspot.com.  Here comes the eyelet stitch.  It is easy to do but time consuming  and it looks cute like a small flower.

Now comes the wave stitch filling.  It took some time to understand the stitch concept. After getting the hang of the stitch it was very interesting.

Chikan Embroidery SAL

My progress in the Chickan SAL with Anita is given here.  Almost all the elements in the motif is completed except two.  It gives me pleasure while stitching the chikan stitches.  I enjoyed thoroughly.  This week the classes were over.  And for me the last lesson stitches are left out.  I will be completing this week and show u my completed motif in the coming post.

This is the my progress so far.  Below is the overcast satin stitch part .  It looks very simple but it takes time to complete the simple details in the motif.  But the result is very much pleasing.

Next is the slanting satin stitch, Roman stitch (the flower part).

Next comes the blanket stitch. straight stitch variation(my stitch on this is not up to the mark).  I have to practice more on this. Detached chain variation(Lookes perfect for a flower bud).

Now comes satin stitch variation.

Chikankari Embroidery sal Lesson 2 - 5 completed.

Anita of artisticfingers is conducting a chikan embroidery class free of cost.  I am also in that SAL group.  As the motif is getting completed part by part it gives me a joy of learning this type of embroidery in a professional way.  Thanks to Anita.

We have learnt Back stitch, Double Back stitch, Interlaced running stitch, Stem stitch,  Detached chain variation, Blanket stitch, Chain stitch, Roman stitch.  The shadow which the embroidery brings in the fabric is very pleasing to the eyes,  that too in the light color fabrics.  I am in the planning process to start a project with chikan embroidery.  Here comes my samples.  Have a look.  Feel free to give your comments and suggestions.

Chickankari Embroidery sample

I have joined to do SAL with Anita of Artisticfingers.  She has taught Double Back stitch as the first stitch.  I have tried it and it came out well.  Tried a sample first and now working on the design along with her.  Have a look at the sample.
