Embroidery pattern 4 - French knots neck design

Hi friends

Today I am here to share the free pattern for this month.  It is an expansion the last months free pattern.  I have expanded it to a neck design for a kurti.  A simple one but  looks elegant.  So on to the design now.

One more thing.  If you are working the french knots for the neckline, make sure that u leave enough space for stitching.  I have stitched it too close to the neck where the fabric is being cut for stitching.  At the time of stitching it becomes big trouble and the french knots were all collapsed.  Then I removed all the french knots and embroidered the neck line with the herringbone stitch.  I will  update this post with the stitched kurti once it is done.

Now the pattern
--------------------------

Stitches used
-------------------------
Round flowers - French knots (6 strands ) - I wind the thread one time over the needle

Stem - Stem stitch - 3 strands
For the neck line french knots of pink and blue stitch alternatively.

Threads Used  - Anchor
------------------------
For flowers - 63 (Pink)
Stem and Leaves - 150 (blue)

For the next months free pattern I am working on a kantha embroidery border pattern.  So do watch my space.

Smalls SAL fairy, Sashiko trial

Hello all

This month I have managed to do the smalls SAL for march month on time.   I took two evenings to stitch the fairy.  And added the quote "Be thankful" to it.  So on to the fairy.

Last two months fairy along with the borders.

All the eight fairies I have stitched so far.  I have to add the quotes to two of them.  Only four more to go to complete the piece.

There are many types of embroideries and one such embroidery is sashiko which uses only the simple running stitch.  I have tried it in a blue cotton fabric with white embroidery thread.

Initially I didn't get the center of the flowers correct.  But on the go I got the hang of it and I completed this.  I traced the pattern on the wrong side of the fabric and done the running stitches on the wrong side.  But i made a mistake on the top row by starting the from the right side,  I should correct it.

One close up

What should I do with this piece? No idea.  I will be doing one more pattern on sashiko.   That's all for now.  In my next post I will be coming up with the free pattern for this month.

Till then, Have a happy time with needle n thread.
