Learn Heart Stitch - Needlepoint Stitch #6

 Hi all

Today I am going to share with you the tutorial for heart stitch in needlepoint.

Heart stitch is a decorative needlepoint stitch that creates small heart-shaped patterns on canvas. It is formed using a combination of straight stitches arranged in a way that resembles a heart, making it both charming and eye-catching. This stitch is often used as a filling stitch or as a small motif in needlepoint designs.

One of the appealing features of heart stitch is its textured and slightly raised appearance, which adds depth and interest to embroidery projects. It works beautifully with different thread types such as wool, cotton, or silk, and can be stitched in one color or multiple shades to highlight the heart shape.

Heart stitch is commonly used in decorative items like cushions, samplers, wall hangings, and small accessories. Because of its simple structure and repeating pattern, it is suitable for beginners who want to explore creative needlepoint stitches while adding a playful and elegant touch to their designs.

For this sample I have used 10ct aida fabric & 6 strands of thread.  That's why the fabric is seen in between the stitches.  To give full coverage use 12 strands of thread.  If doing on single thread canvas 6 strands of threads or tapestry thread gives the full coverage.
