Chikankari Embroidery class 1 - Janjira Stitch

 Hi all

Hope all are doing well and good.  From today I am starting a series on chikankari embroidery.  First I will cover all the basic and advanced stitches used in chikankari work.  And then I will be moving on to small designs and finish off with a neckline embroidery project.

So the first basic stitch is Janjira.  It is the normal chain stitch used in hand embroidery.  We use 2 strands of thread for this stitch.  I have given a practice design and the video tutorial.  Do try it out.

Embroidery Design - Looped Blanket stitch, X-mas Baubles

 Hi all

Hope all are safe and doing good.  Today I am here to share with you the next free embroidery design for this month.  It's related to Christmas. Festive season is nearing and this design will be perfect for a wall hanging or an ornament.  Also, it can be used for Christmas cards also.

Baubles - Looped blanked stitch

Scrolls - Chain stitch

Lines from the scrolls to baubles - Back stitch

Letters - Back stitch

To embroider this design I have used the left over threads of red and green from other projects.  Any Christmas colors will suit this design and all the stitching is done with 3 strands of thread.  Attached some star shaped buttons inside the baubles.

Embroidery design - Chain Stitch Flower

Hi all

I am back with another simple embroidery design using chain stitch.  In this design I have used only chain stitch .

Flower - 1205(3 strands)

Stem and leaves - 246 ( 2 strands)

Embroidered blouse back Neck

This is a simple silk saree blouse.  I have chosen a simple design to embroider on the back of the blouse.  simple chain stitch with 1 strand and straight stitches are used.  Also small beads were used.  I have tried my best to take a clear photo of the design.

Embroidered blouse - Chain stitch

Today I am back with another embroidery in the back of my blouse.  I have selected the simple mango design.  Outline is embroidered using chain stitch and inside I have filled with fishbone stitch. I have used 1 strand of silk embroidery thread.  Neck part is over and I have to do the border for the blouse.  Now have a look.

Chain stitch - Blouse Neck Design

This is my own design.  Fully done using chain stitch and added beads at the end. Single strand of silver zari thread has been used. Embroidery for hand has to be done.  Will post it as soon as possible.

One of my old work using chain stitch for blouse neck is here.  Comparing these two works I am very happy to see my growth in embroidery.
