Kasuti tops and a WIP update

This is my second finish for this year.  I have embroidered his kasuti tops. Embroidery is done only for the yoke, border and the border for sleeves.  I have done this upon a request from my co-sis for her colleagues.  I don't know whether they will like it or not.

I have done this in black color silk cotton material with two strands of anchor embroidery thread.
Thread no's: Anchor 167 & 306
No of hrs: 19 hrs

It took more than 1 hr to fix the net and 1 1/2 hrs to remove it after completing the embroidery.

This is the yoke part

This is the border both for the body part and sleeves.

Both yoke and border

I have some more projects to do.  Initially I have got the kasuti net along with the embroidery which I have taken from mridulas school.  Now it's over and I am in need of kasuti net or calico net.  But I don't have any idea from where to get it.  Anyone have any idea?  Do we get the kasuti net around chennai? or anywhere online.  Please do let me know.  Till I get that net I will continue the projects with kutch designs.

You can view my other kasuti projects here.

Now for the update in my mega cross stitch project.  I have completed the page 4 of the harmony cross stitch project.  It took nearly 20hrs to complete this.

Page 4 completed

Hope all of you have like my projects.  Do take time to comment on it as it gives me encouragement to do more.  Will come up with some more projects.  So do watch my space.

Kutch work bag and some crochet.

In my last post I have shown u a kutch work motif.  I have transformed that piece into a bag.  This is my first finish of 2016.  Here it is.

I have followed some youtube tutorials to make this bag.

Also I have worked some crochet squares.
Link for this square is here.  This square is given for the BOMcal in ravelry.

Some solid granny square which I have planned for a blanket.  But after working on it, I don't like the variegated shades in this yarn.  So thought of making it into a bag after working some more squares.

Now I am working on a kasuti kurti and a needlepoint piece.  Hope all of u like my works.  Waiting for your feedbacks.

Kutch work motif and a cross stitch Ta..da

Hi all,
How r u all?  It's already 8th of Jan.  I had some finishes to show u from previous year.  But I want to start my post with a new work which I made this year.  Also I have a cross stitch finish to show you.  First on to the kutch work motif.  I have planned to do this for a bag.  Done with 3 strands of anchor embroidery thread.  Also added shisha embroidery to it.

Now the cross stitch finish.  This one I have started as a kit from pony craft store  on 2014.  But only finished on 2015 November.  This is the first cross stitch with different shades of threads.  Some how I have managed to finish it.  I have one more kit from pony but I was not happy with the design.  So I am in an oscillation whether to start that or not..  Ok now for the Ta... da moment.

Now I have to remove the creases in the fabric before giving it for framing.  I am afraid to wash the piece in a fear of color running. But three cross stitch pieces are waiting for its turn to frame.  I should frame it before I start another one. And I can concentrate on my mega cross stitch project "Harmony".

I have planned to do some embroidered kurtis for sale this year.   Any one interested to have embroidered kurti do let me know. Also I have done embroidery in my blouse.  Will be back with that embroidery and some planned project for 2016  in my next post.

Stitches from the bottom row.
Blue and pink  stripe - Parisian stitch
Light blue stripe - Double Parisian stitch
Centre pink stripe - Elongated smyrna stitch
I have filled the empty spaces with straight stitches in dark blue thread.

The square with yellow and green thread is Sprats Head stitch.  I like this stitch very much.  Centre Orange color column is Cashmere stitch. The Red square on the left is T-square stitch.  The Red square on the right is T-stitch which provides a nice lace effect.
Only two more blocks to complete this sampler.

I have also completed the third  page of the mega cross stitch project.  It took 29 hrs in total to complete that page.

Happy that I have made this much progress in this project.  So  many color changes but the parking method of threads makes it easier to do.  That's all for now.  Will be back with another finish.  Till then Happy crocheting and cross stitching.

Smalls SAL - October finish, Needlepoint block

Randje per week is cross stitched borders published in this blog every week. I am saving them for the past two years.  I have started to do the borders as a part of  smalls SAL this month.  Cross stitched with two strands of thread of green and pink threads.  Done a crochet border using pearl cotton no.8 thread.  Turned the cross stitched piece into a coaster.  Happy with the outcome.

Completed one more needlepoint block.
-----------------------------------------------
PLAITED SQUARE DIAGONAL STITCH
DOUBLE TIED OBLONG CROSS

The top and bottom row with orange color thread is Plaited square diagonal stitch. It can be used to fill large spaces. The other rows in the middle are Double tied oblong cross and its variations.  It forms a nice border.  Both these stitches does not cover the canvas.  Tent stitch can be used to cover it.  I didn't fill it up coz I like it as it is.

The three rows in the sampler so far. I have to complete one more row with four more blocks and the framing should be done with white thread.

That's all for today.  Will meet u with another finish next week.  Till then happy cross stitching and embroidering.
