Work In Progress Update and two quilt blocks

Hi all

Hope all are doing good and staying safe.  It's been a long time I have given an update in my WIP's. Last time I have shown the WIP's in this post. Though From that post I have completed the kurti neck design.  You can see it here. Also I have made a good progress in the Anchor long stitch kit - Glossy flowers.

This piece looks colourful now.  I have started the flowers and the small flowers are completed.  Within this month I hope I will complete this one.

Also this month I have started another one crochet project.  I am showing a small portion of it. Can you guess what am I crocheting?  This will be a finish in the coming week.

To get instant satisfaction I have done these two quilt blocks in tapestry canvas.  Just for fun I have done this.  Now thought of adding some more blocks and decided to finish it to a small coin purse.

I have some more projects which I haven't made any progress.  Will pick it one by one and show it's progress soon.  Hopefully I will come back tomorrow with a ribbon embroidery flower.  So watch this space.

Till then, Have a nice time with needle and thread.  Have a happy weekend.

Doodle Flowers Wreath

 Hi all

Hope all are doing good and staying safe.  Today I didn't feel like doing any embroidery.  So I took my notebook and started drawing this wreath.  Drawn some random circles big and small for flowers.  Then added some leaves and some small circles.  Then coloured it with sketch pens.

This month I am meditating on the verses that are related to being humble from the bible.  So I have pen down the words  'Be humble' inside the wreath.  Let's have a look at the design.

This is the pattern I have drawn.  It can also be used as an embroidery design.  Simple chain stitch in variegated thread works well for this design.

Some snaps in the process of colouring.

I should start Zentangling and mandala drawing again.  It relaxes me and brings a sense of instant satisfaction.  I am also planning to recreate this design using rolled paper roses and quilled leaves. Hope to bring that craft work to you soon.

I will be back with an update in my WIP's in my next post.  Till then, happy doodling and have a nice day.

Woven Star Stitch - Embroidery Neck Design

 Hi all

Hope all are doing good.  In the embroidery stitch tutorial series a week before I have posted the tutorial for doing woven star stitch.

Today I am happy to share a neck design I have embroidered using this stitch.  Used six strands of anchor thread and the fabric is silk cotton.

First I have embroidered the stars.  Then attached a golden bead in the centre of each star.

Then added small size beads around the stars

Close up of the stars

Added back stitch for the neckline

Click here for the Video tutorial for woven star stitch and working this design.

Woven Star Stitch - Embroidery Stitch tutorial

 Hi all

Hope all are doing well and good. In the embroidery stitch tutorial series, today I have come up with a simple, cute and neat stitch to embroider stars that too with a woven effect.  Yes, today's stitch is Woven star stitch.

It is very simple to do.  The star is formed with 5 straight stitches.   Let us move on to the tutorial.  Mark 5 points as shown in the picture below.

First make a straight stitch from 1 to 3

Now make another straight stitch from 2 to 4

Make the third straight stitch from 3 to 5

Make the fourth straight stitch from 4 to 1

Make the fifth straight stitch from 5 to 2.  While crossing the thread that goes from 1 to 3 the running thread should go under the first stitch thread.

A star stitch is formed.

Hope all of you find this tutorial useful.   Kindly have a look at my youtube channel and subscribe if you like it.  It will be a great encouragement to me.   I will come up with a neck design with this stitch soon.  Till then, have a nice day.
