Crochet purses

Hope all are doing well and good.  Today I am happy to show you my crochet purses which I have made recently.

All the three purses are made using Anchor knitting cotton and a 2.5 mm hook.  They are made with rounds of dc's and attached to a plain cotton purse.  I will be showing the process in another post.  All these three purse and you can buy it from here.

Simple Crochet Purse

Hope all are doing well and good.  For the past one and a half years kids are attending online classes.  And from last month my elder started going to school for 3 days a week and from November 1st my younger one will also start going to regular school.  So as a back to school project my younger one asked me a pouch and this is what I came up with.  Two purses for both of my kids.

Video Tutorial

• I have used a variegated yarn and made rows of hdc's so that it form a pattern with no holes and there will be no need to sew a lining. 
• After crocheting the rows I have turned the piece and folded into half and then joined the sides using sc's. 
• The from the opening Crocheted some more rows of hdc's for the flap.  
• Attached magnetic closure for the first one and a velcro for the second one.

This is just a simple purse so that a beginner can also crochet.  I will soon update this post with the video tutorial once I upload it in my youtube channel.

How to attach a zipper to a crochet purse

Hope all are doing well.  Yesterday I have posted the pattern for crocheting a purse along with its video tutorial.  Today I am sharing the second part of the project that is attaching a zip closure to the pouch.   Here is the video tutorial of it.

Dotted Windows purse / Making of a crochet purse - part 1 with video

Hope all are doing.  I have crocheted many purses for the past few years.  But haven't done any video of making it.  Today I am happy to share with you a video tutorial plus the written pattern of a purse which I have crocheted this week.  It is a different experience making a video.  

Here is the video tutorial. 

I have given the name dotted windows because the sc made along with chain 2 looks like a dot when the chain 2 space is filled with dc's in the next round.  

Let me show you the purse I have crocheted.

The pattern is very simple. I have used 4 ply acrylic yarn and a 3 mm hook. 

Abbrevations

Sea Blue Purse

Hope all are staying safe and doing good.  Today I am here to show a purse which I have crocheted for my amazon store. I have completed a purse with the same pattern way back in 2019. You can view it here.

Pattern :Rainbow Happy Fun Pouch

Yarn : Laura Knitting cotton (You can use Anchor knitting cotton also)

Hook size: 3.50 mm

This pouch is 8.75 inches in length and 4.75 inches in width.  It has a zipper closure with lining.  It has enough room to hold the basic things when we go for a evening walk.

Using the same pattern I have crocheted a bag also.

Catherine wheel purse

Hi friends,

Happy to share with you my new crocheted purse.  Crocheted last year but finished it with lining and button only this week.  Also, Added some beads in the flap.  I have made this to match with a saree of blue and pink color.  

Used the catherine wheel crochet stitch.  4ply acrylic yarn and a 4mm hook.  In the scalloped edges I have added slip stitch.  Added clip button instead of zip.  Hand stitched the lining which gives more neater look than machine stitching in crochet items. That's my opinion.

Crochet Purses

Hello all

Hope all r doing well and good.  We r enjoying the summer holidays with the kids.  Holidays are meant for enjoying but the heat of the summer makes it irritable. Some how we have managed and within 10 to 15 days the scorching heat will come down hopefully.  My routine has changed since the kids are at home and whenever I get time I used to do something crafty but not got the mood to take the laptop and write a blog post.

Finally I thought let me get into track as the vacations are going to over and today I am writing this post to show some crochet purses which I have done this year, 

The above two purses are done with single stitch rows and the flap is made with shell stitch.

This is a waffle stitch purse.

The above one is a three compartment purse done with double crochet rows.  I followed a you tube tutorial to do this purse.

I have to do two more purses for my kids before they r back to school on June 6th.  As I promised in my last post I will be back with an embroidered kurti in my next post. Till then, Happy crocheting.

Crocheted bag and a purse

Hope everyone is doing well and happy with your needle, thread and yarn.  I am also busy doing some crochet projects as well as some embroidery.

I have completed a crochet bag and a purse.  Happy to showcase it here.

Block stitch purse

Followed the pattern from here.  It is an easy and attractive stitch.  Will be doing more projects using this stitch in future.

Interlocking Crochet purse

Hello all

Hope all r doing well.  I am a little busy since my kids r at home and they will be back to school on April 2nd. Most of the time I am in the kitchen doing cooking, cleaning.  It's hot here now and the interest for stitching is low.  Whenever I get time I am picking up my crochet hook and yarn.  And this purse is born. 

Long back I bought the Interlocking crochet book.  Already I have tried some patterns from that book.  It is an excellent source for those who want to try interlocking crochet.  This time I have crocheted the interlocking zig zag pattern and it came out perfect. 

I have attached a zipper and  managed to attach a lining also.  This time the zipper part came out perfect.  I have used a local acrylic yarn with 4mm hook.  Now over to the purse.

It has enough room for holding a cell phone, keys, pens and money.  I am very happy that it have turned well.  It took me two evenings to complete this.  I will be doing more purses for our church sale.

I have completed a crochet bag.  The body part is completed.  I have to attach a zipper, lining and a strap.  This part is taking time and I am lazy to do that.  And the next cross stitch fairy is also in the hoop.  

In my next post I will be coming up with the cross stitch fairy.  So do watch my space.  Have a happy time with hooks and yarns.

Crochet Samples to pouches

Hope all r having a wonderful weekend. I am also happy because I have two crochet finishes in my hand.

In the school of crochet there are so many stitches I wanted to learn.  One is V-stitch and one Saturday evening I tried it with two colors and I like the way it turned out.  So crocheted another piece of it and at that time my little one came to me asked ma what r u going to do with it? And I asked shall I make a pencil pouch out of it.  He happily agreed to it and that sample became a pouch.

Then my elder one asked a pouch for him and tried this wavy pattern using tapestry crochet.  It took two evenings to do this pouch.  I didn't line it since the tapestry crochet is made of single crochet and it makes a thick fabric with no space.  But the zipper part I find it somewhat difficult and it was not perfect.  But my son was happy with it.

What I learned with tapestry pouch  is, it will be better for a sling bag which needs no zipper.  Next time I will try a sling bag.  Now I am happy with this attempt.  

I have completed neckline embroidery for a kurti.  I am eagerly waiting to post it.  I will be posting it along with my free embroidery design for next month.  So do watch my space.  

Now on my embroidery hoop is the fairy for the smalls SAL.  I will be posting it on Tuesday hopefully.  That's all for now.  Bye.

Tapestry crochet purse, Needlepoint block

In the world of crochet, I have been introduced to the concept of tapestry crochet thru the blog littlewoollie. You can see  So many wonderful projects on tapestry crochet in that blog.  She has given a neat and crisp tutorial for doing tapestry crochet.  I have followed that tute and has made a small piece  and turned that piece into a small purse.  I have used scraps of yarn for this piece.  Over to the purse now.

Also I have added a block in my needlepoint sampler.  I have done three stitches in the same block.  The first yellow band is upright cross, the band with red and green is rice stitch and the block in the middle with purple and green is byzantine stitch. 

I have tried some more samples in interlocking crochet.   Will come up with that in another post.  Till then happy crocheting ad happy embroidering.
