I enjoyed this project since the yarns are colourful treat to the eyes.  Hope all of you like it. In my next post I will be back with a completed needlepoint project. Till then, happy crocheting.

Kasuti Embroidery Kurti

Today happy to show case my latest embroidered kurti.  It is a kurti kit which I have bought from Shreepathi design Studio.  The kit came with traced fabric, necessary anchor threads and needle.

The design has been traced for the neck part and border for sleeves.

I have used two strands of threads.  Enough thread is there in the kit.  They also provide kits, design sheets, design books for kurtis and bedsheets.   Out of the 4 kits I have purchased I have completed two.

Now I am working on a needlepoint kit which I will be completing within December 1st week.  So do watch my space.  Till then, Happy embroidering.

Ribbon embroidery and MCP update

Hi all,

Hope all r doing well.  Today I have come up with a ribbon embroidery design which I have tried as a sample.  Initially I have tried some straight stitches with ribbon and I find it difficult to insert the ribbon into and then out of the fabric.  Then I have tried the woven rose stitch with satin ribbon and it came out nice. I have used 3/4" ribbon.  For the leaves I have used 4ply yarn and it matches the ribbon well.  Also added some white beads in between the design and in the centre of the flower.

Video tutorial is here.

Next I will be doing ribbon embroidery in my kurti.

I am happy that I have completed one more page in my mega cross stitch project.

I am waiting to get the next page completed to see the finished cat.    Now I am embroidering a kasuti kurti which I will finish within a day or two.  So in my next post I will be coming up with the kurti and an embroidery sample.  Till then, watch my space.

Pistil stitch flower and MCP update

Hello all

It's been more than a month I have posted my crafty things here.  Though so many things are being done on the craft side I was not able to blog about it.  I am doing slow and steady progress in my bigger projects.

In between the bigger projects I used to try some samples of the embroidery stitches.  Now I am doing different flowers with different stitches.  This year I have done embroidery work on kurtis with french knots and ring knots.  As a continuation to these knot stitches this time I have tried Long french knots or pistil stitch.  It came out perfect.

Initially I have tried with all the six strands of thread.  But I didn't like the appearence of it.  Then I have tried with 4 strands, two times wound the thread around the needle and it was perfect for me.  Have a look at the sample.

A pearl bead has been added at the centre.

Stitches used:
-----------------------
Flower - Pistil stitch or Long french knots
Leaf - Leaf stitch (used two colors for leaf)
sprays - Straight stitches with french knots at the tip
Vein of the leaf - stem stitch

Thread Numbers ( Anchor embroidery thread)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Flower - 74 (4 strands, wound two times around needle)
Leaf and stem - 237, 239(3 strands)
French knots - (4 strands, wound one time around needle)

For the leaf I have done leaf stitch leaving little spaces in between and then added straight stitches in the gap with the second color of green and it looks good than stitching in a single color.

Update on Harmony Cross stitch project
---------------------------------------------------------
I am happy that I have completed one more page on mega cross stitch project and I have started the section three of the design.

Kasuti Kurti Neck and MCP update

Hi all

Happy to share my new embroidered piece, a kasuti kurti neck.  It is a kit which I have bought from Shreepathi design studio.  In the kit, the design has been traced on the fabric and the threads needed were also available.  So, I completed this piece quickly.  It took me nearly 8 hours to complete the neck and two small motifs for the sleeves.

There is a small motif in the sleeves.

I have completed one more page in the mega cross stitch project.  I have completed 1/2 portion of the design.  Still half of the design to go.  By the end of 2020 I have planned to complete this design.

In my next post I will be coming up with some embroidered flower samples.  Till then, watch my space and happy embroidering.

Ripple Blanket - Ta da........

Hi dear friends

Today I am very very happy to share my completed ripple blanket.  I have started this blanket journey on 1st day of 2019.  Crocheting a row each day was my goal and I achieved it.  The pattern is from attic24.

Made a simple border to form a neat edge.  Edging is also from Lucy.

I have used acrylic 4 ply yarn from Pradhan Embroidery stores and 4mm hook.  I made 2 rows with each color.  Totally I have used 8 colors.  I have used nearly 2 hanks of each color.

Last year I have started to crochet a blanket using retro vibe square.  I have done one square each day.  All the squares have been completed on last october itself but joining the squares is still pending.  I am half way thru that joining part and probably by next month I will be completing it.

In my next post I will be coming up with a kasuti neck embroidery.  Till then happy crocheting.

Needlepoint wall hanging, Harmony cross stitch Update

Hi all

Hope all r doing well.  In the embroidery world needlepoint stitches always caught my attention.  They are very easy to do.  So I have tried my hands in a small project and converted into a wall hanging.  It is a free pattern from here and here.  I have used the anchor embroidery threads.  Added zari thread and sugar beads which enhances the look of the embroidered piece.  Now over to the needlepoint wall hanging.

Attached the embroidered canvas on to foam sheets.  Now the wall hanging is ready.

Also I have completed one more page in my mega cross stitch project.  I am happy to see the bird in front of me.

Finishing one more page will bring me to the halfway thru in this project.  I have decided to finish this project by the end of 2020.

That's all for today's post.  In my next post I will come up with a mandala design done with the family of straight stitches.  Till then, Have a happy time with your needle n thread.

A portion of the neck.

This is the front portion of the neck.

Sleeves.

I have used simple chain stitch, line of stone chain, ball chain and zari line.  Then sticked the  stones with glue and outlined it with zari thread.  Click on the picture for better view.

Ring Knot Kurti

Hello all

I am back again with an embroidered neck for a kurti.  The same design I have done with french knots for me.  But this time I have used ring knots for my co sister and modified the design a little.  Material is the same.  Ring knots is a beautiful stitch which is widely used in aari embroidery for flowers.  It is used as a filling stitch.  I have learned this knot through you tube tutorials.  Many videos are available for the same in you tube.

This is the motif  in the sleeves.

I have used 6 strands of anchor embroidery threads for the flowers  and stitched french knots for the flower centers.  Leaves are stitched using leaf stitch which is my all time favourite and the stems in stem stitch.  First I tried the stems using portuguese stem stitch.  But it was not that much appealing.  So I decided to do stem stitch for stems.  Overall I like the outcome.  What about you?  Have you tried ring knots.  It is a bit difficult first.  But by practice it will come out perfect.  Tried it out.  I will be posting the design in future and a method to trace design for the neck.

Now I am doing some embroidery samples and concentrating more on my mega cross stitch project.  I will be finishing another page soon.  So I will come up with that update and a embroidery sample flower.  Till then, Have a happy time with needle n thread.

Crochet Purses

Hello all

Hope all r doing well and good.  We r enjoying the summer holidays with the kids.  Holidays are meant for enjoying but the heat of the summer makes it irritable. Some how we have managed and within 10 to 15 days the scorching heat will come down hopefully.  My routine has changed since the kids are at home and whenever I get time I used to do something crafty but not got the mood to take the laptop and write a blog post.

Finally I thought let me get into track as the vacations are going to over and today I am writing this post to show some crochet purses which I have done this year,

The above two purses are done with single stitch rows and the flap is made with shell stitch.

This is a waffle stitch purse.

The above one is a three compartment purse done with double crochet rows.  I followed a you tube tutorial to do this purse.

I have to do two more purses for my kids before they r back to school on June 6th.  As I promised in my last post I will be back with an embroidered kurti in my next post. Till then, Happy crocheting.

Saying Bye to Fairies

Hello all,

I have started doing this fairies project as a part of smalls SAL in Jan 2017.  At that time the patterns were free in this blog.  Luckily I downloaded the chart for all twelve months.  After that it became paid pattern and now sorry that page doesn't exist.

On 2017 I was regular till May.  After that I left these fairies unattended.  Then again picked it up and completed 5 more fairies.  And finally in 2019 I completed the last three fairies and one project in my work basket left its place.  I added these quotes to add some positivity in me when I see this frame.  It's already framed with black frame and it is adorning my living room wall.

(Please click on the image for better view)

I am so happy that I have completed this project.  Next the rainbow SAL which I have started again in 2017 is waiting for its turn to finish it.

In my next post I will be coming up with a embroidered kurti.  Till then, Happy cross stitching.

Kutch work motif and crochet clips

Hi all

Hope all r doing good and busy.  Heat of the summer is horrible and v r afraid to face the coming weeks.  In this climate doing embroidery is not enjoyable.  But to be more productive doing our passion make us more satisfied at the end of the day.  From January I was doing a kutch work saree for my sister in law.  I have completed that and have tried to embellish that motifs.  Sticking pink stones in in the plan.  But as of now I have only pink sequins.  So tried a motif with sequins and it looks like this now.

After buying pink stones we will be sticking it to the saree.

Also I have crocheted some small flowers and glued it to the hair clip.  They are lined up here.

These are all for now.  In my next post I will be coming up with the completed cross stitched fairies.  Till then, Have a nice day.  Have a happy time with needle n thread.
