Ripple Blanket - Ta da........

Hi dear friends

Today I am very very happy to share my completed ripple blanket.  I have started this blanket journey on 1st day of 2019.  Crocheting a row each day was my goal and I achieved it.  The pattern is from attic24.

Made a simple border to form a neat edge.  Edging is also from Lucy.

I have used acrylic 4 ply yarn from Pradhan Embroidery stores and 4mm hook.  I made 2 rows with each color.  Totally I have used 8 colors.  I have used nearly 2 hanks of each color.

Last year I have started to crochet a blanket using retro vibe square.  I have done one square each day.  All the squares have been completed on last october itself but joining the squares is still pending.  I am half way thru that joining part and probably by next month I will be completing it.

In my next post I will be coming up with a kasuti neck embroidery.  Till then happy crocheting.

A crochet ripple finish

Last December I have started this ripple blanket for my friend who is expecting her second baby on March.  I wanted to do with granny squares.  Since it has the lace effect I started rippling the blanket so that it doesn't have any holes. Everything went on well.  I had only 2 balls of yarn in brown and cream each.  But I needed more than I expected.  I ran out of yarn.  I ordered another set and with great confidence I have ordered the brown on seeing the online catalogue of Pradhan stores.  But to my disappointment It was another shade which I have seen after receiving it.  So I have decided to do rows of dc's on both sides till I reach the size of the blanket.  I have done one dc on top of the dc's in the ripple row but the ends got extended than the ripple's width.  I don't have the patience to unravel it and do it again and thought let it be like a frill at the end.

So what to do with the border.  I had a small amount of yarn left over from the first brown and I have done slip stitch on each stitch on all the four sides. That's all.  Completed.  Phew.

In this photo u can see how much it has been extended.  I am not satisfied with this blanket.  On my embroidery hoop is a kutch work kurti. Will be finishing it this week.  Will meet u with another finish.  Till then, Happy crocheting.

Crocheted sofa covers

When I came across the Neat ripple pattern from Attic24 I just love it.  i made a sofa back cover using that pattern and the result is wonderful.  very neat and easy to do. It took 15 minutes to complete one row and totally i have done 33 rows.  Two such covers for the single sofas have been done.  Have a look at it.

Now the closeup

Set of ripples.

Then for the three seater sofa I have made a granny ripple that matches with the neat ripple pattern.  The pattern is from here.  The beauty is there is no need of the long foundation chain in this pattern.  That's why i have given a try.  It was also very easy to do.  You can find lot more projects with no beginning chain.  I have folded this in half.  Used five colors for the granny ripple.

Now with the three ripples.

I have used Nako Luks minnos yarn from pony craft store.  In my next post I will come up with a crocheted bag.  So, do watch my space.  Till then, Happy crocheting.
