Kutch work border design for sarees, blouse and kurtis

Hope all are doing well and good.  Today I am very happy to share with you another simple border design in kutch work.  I have worked this design in one of my blouses in the sleeve portion.  Here I have showed the working video and complete pattern for the border.  You can extend this pattern if you are working on a kurti or saree.  This design with cream color on any color silk fabric goes with kerala sarees.  I will update this post with the video tutorial soon.

Kutch work design with a flower

Hope all are doing well and good.  Today I am happy to share with an easy kutch work motif that can be used for sarees and kurtis.  It makes a simple and neat centre design for cushion covers also.

Kutchwork Kurti update - Sleeves completed

Hope all are doing well.  Last year I got 4 kurti kits from shreepathi design studio.  They have the fabric with the design trace - design in neck and sleeves.  Threads, needles and an outline of the design with the thread colors.  I have completed two of them - 2 kasuti kits.  Started the third one which is kutch work.  And completed the sleeves. 

They haven't instructed the stitch for the round blue colour round portions.  First I thought of stitching mirrors in it.  But I don't have mirror the fits the size of those circle.  They are small than the mirrors I have.  So I have stitched the Eyelet stitch to fill in those circles and it was perfect.

For the small portion of the leaves and stems I have used back stitch.  All through the design 3 strands of anchor threads are used.

Today I have started to do the neck portion.  Hopefully within a week I will be able to completed it.  So the next update will be the finished neckline.  Drop in your feedbacks in the comments sections.  I will be happy to hear from you. 

A kutch work finish

This is the third finish of this year.   I have done kutch work for the neck and border.  The fabric is golden yellow color silk cotton and the work is done in three strands of anchor embroidery thread no.245.  Already I have done the same design last year.  I have made it simple with embroidery only in the neck and border of the sleeve.  Hope all of you like it.  Waiting for your feedbacks.

On the first day of 2016, I was thinking what resolution should I take this year, do's and don't s... I used to think over the situations which irritates me, which hurts me that spoils my mood and at times that thinking spoils my whole day resulting in shouting at my kids.  So I wanted to change that habit and when I was thinking how to change that immediately this verse underlined in red came into my mind.

Though the fig tree should not blossom And there be no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive should fail And the fields produce no food, Though the flock should be cut off from the fold And there be no cattle in the stalls,

 Yet I will exult in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.

 The Lord GOD is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds' feet, And makes me walk on my high places. For the choir director, on my stringed instruments.

Whatever the situations may be just rejoice in the Lord.  Just I wrote that in an A4 Paper and then I started formatting it and finally after a month I have ended up with this.  Zentangle art helped me to come up with this. I will be laminating this and it is going to be in my wall so that I can see it often.  I used color pencils and duo color peps to draw these.  I have written the tamil verse for it.

I was playing with picasa and I ended up with this.  Colors are inverted and I like it very much.

One more quote which I like. I have sketched this in my journal.

Kutch embroidery blouse

Today i am here to show you the saree blouse which i have embroidered using Kutch work.  Simple design has been done for the neck and sleeves.  Have a look and type in your comments.

Now the sleeves.

And now the saddest part,  When I gave the blouse for stitching, She stitches the blouse perfectly, but the embroidered part of the neck is 1" below the neckline. I don't know why she made a blunter mistake. So I removed the neckline embroider part and to my luck when I washed the tracing lines have all gone.  Thank God.  

The embroidery in the saree is almost over.  some more small motifs has to be done in the body part.  So, do watch my space. Till then, Happy Embroidering.

Kutch work border blouse

This is the border which I have done for my silk blouse.  Kutch work goes well with the silk fabric.  I have used three strands of anchor cotton embroidery thread.  For the lines I used chain stitch with 2 strands.  How is it?
