Hope all are doing well and good. 11 months have passed by and tomorrow we are entering into the month of festivity. We used to unwrap our christmas tree and put it in our home tomorrow. This year I have crocheted some stars to hang it on the tree. As I love to embroider than crochet I tried a felt sheet star with a snowflake design and it came out so beautifully than I expected. I am very happy to share with you all the felt star along with the design and the video of its making.
I have make a video tutorial for the making of this star.
Kindly watch the video and if you like my videos subscribe to my channel.
For this project I have used a white felt sheet and pricked holes over the design. I have used the simple back stitch and straight stitch and french knots. So I have pricked holes in the points where I have taken each stitches. From the design you can understand that.
I will post a better picture soon.
I have used anchor thread number 46 with 3 strands to stitch the whole design. For the french knots used 3 strands and 1 wrap. Then sticked some golden stones. Attached a satin ribbon at the back and the star is ready to be hanged.
Hope all are doing well and good. Today I am happy to share with you the video tutorial for embroidering berry stitch flowers. Kindly watch and if you are interested in more such videos, subscribe to my channel. It will encourage me to do more videos.
Hope all are doing well and good. For Christmas I started to stitch and early a little early this year. So far I have added a embroidered wall hanging and a set of snowflakes. To that set I have crocheted a set of stars to hang on the X'mas tree. This set contain 5 stars crocheted. Come have a look.
Pattern is from here. I stopped with the first three rounds.
I used 4 ply acrylic yarn with 3.5 mm hook.
Hope you all like these stars. Tomorrow I will come up with a video tutorials for an embroidery stitch. Till then, have a nice time.
Hope all are doing well and good. I learned aari embroidery sometime back. Though there are so many stitches in aari I am comfortable only in the basic chain stitch. That too working with zari thread. I am not comfortable in working with silk thread using aari needle.
This embroidery is worked on a silk blouse. It has been customised for my friend. When she asked can you do some simple embroidery for me I accepted it. She gave me a model design and I have drawn a pattern accordingly and this is the outcome.
Some close ups
For the neckline I stitch a line of chain stitch, then worked zig zag chain stitch over that chain line. That gives a lace like effect. Then attaced a line of ball chain. The third line is again chain line with zig zag chain.
For the floral stems, used ball chain. for the leaves used fishbone stitch using purple colour silk thread with 4 strands. Some tear drop stones are added for leaf shape and it is outlined with zardosi strings. Added golden colour stones at the tip of the stones.
Now I am working on the sleeves. I will update this post with the sleeve design once it is completed.
I always work designs from already existing patterns. This time I came out of my comfort zone and gained courage to work aari embroidery blouse that too for a costly saree. Happy that it came out well. It has given me more confidence in making custom embroidery pieces.
Hope every one like this design. Drop in your feedbacks in the comments section. I am working on some crochet pieces for the past two days. I will come up with that in my next post. Till then, have a nice day.
Hope all are doing well and good. In my embroidery design series, today I am happy to share with you a simple design that uses buttonhole stitch for flowers and leaves. It is an easy stitch for a beginner. It makes an easy filling for flowers.
This design can be used as a single motif or can be used as an all over design for your kurtis or sarees. It can be worked continuously to form a border design. It looks very simple but gives more elegance to your dresses.
Centre of flower - French knots - 315 (6 strands, 1 Wrap)
Stem - stem stitch - 212 - 3 strands
The fabric I have used to stitch the design is Mercerised Dyed cotton canvas in powder pink colour. You can purchase it through the above link. It is a good quality fabric to do embroidery.
In my next post I will come up with a customised embroidery which I am doing it for my friend. Till then, have a nice day and have a happy time with your needle and thread.
Hope all are doing well and good. As christmas is nearing I started crocheting some ornaments for my christmas tree. I have started with a simple snowflake pattern. It is very easy and finished 4 in one sitting.
Let me show them first.
I used 4 ply acrylic yarn and a 3.5 mm hook. I am planning to add some snowflakes to my amazon shop and instagram account. Have a look at the single snowflake.
I have wet blocked it and added some silver glitter to it. But the glitter is not seen properly in the picture. I am happy with the outcome.
Today I am happy to share with you a completed crochet project that has been with me as a WIP for sooo long. I tried my hands in filet crochet long back and I love the outcome a lot. It is so simple but the look is elegant. You can see my first attempt here.
After that I have attempted a big filet wall hanging that has roses in it. Now let me show the wall hanging.
I have used crochet cotton thread and 1.25 mm hook. After completing I have wet blocked it. And used a skewer to hang it. I am so satisfied with the outcome.
Now I am doing one more project using this filet technique and it is nearing completion. Will be post it soon. Have a look at some more pictures.
Thanks for visiting my blog. Hopefully from tomorrow I will be regular in posting here. If you are interested in watching embroidery and crochet related videoes kindly subscribe my channel.
I will be back with another crochet finish tomorrow. Till then have a nice day and happy crocheting.
Hope all are doing well and good. Today I am happy to share with you a new embroidery design that uses Eskimo Laced Edging stitch. The tutorial can be found here.
When I tried this stitch to embroider a flower, I didn't expect the outcome will be this good. I am happy to see the outcome. It suits for stitching a leaf also. Let us see the design now.
Hope all are doing well and good. In the embroidery stitch tutorials today I have come up with the tutorial for doing the Eskimo Laced Edging Stitch.
This stitch comes under the family of running stitch. Very easy to do. It can be used as a decorative stitch. It can also be used for decorating the neckline. Back in 2013 I have used this stitch to decorate the neckline of one of my blouse. You can view it here.
Video tutorial
Let us move on to the step by step Picture tutorial.
1) Start with a running stitch along the stitch line.
2) Bring the needle up one line below between the first two stitches.
3) Insert the needle under the first stitch from below the stitch line without picking the fabric and pull through the thread.
4) Insert the needle under the next stitch from above the stitch line without picking the fabric and pull through the thread.
5) Insert the needle down at the point where you come up.
6) Now bring the needle up between the second and third stitch and repeat steps 3 - 5.
6) A line of Eskimo Laced Edging stitch.
Running stitch is done in green colour and the laced part is done in orange colour.
Running stitch is done in 3 strands and laced part is done in 6 strands.
In this sample the lace part is done in different heights.
In my next post I will come up with a design that uses this stitch. Till then have a nice time with your needle and thread.
