Crochet Block stitch Bag

 Hi all

Hope all are doing well and staying safe.  In my journey of crochet I have made purses and bags.  But I haven't have the guts to work with black colour yarn.  Because my eyes are not comfortable working with black colour.  But this time I thought I will give it a try with black and peach colour yarn, since I have the black colour handles with me for long time.  So to use that handle I started working this bag.  Moreover I want to experiment block stitch in rounds and this is what I have come up with.

With 2 strands of yarn held together, I have made foundation chain with a row of hdc according to the length I needed and then adjusted to do two rounds of dc's around the foundation row with multiples of 3 .  Then started to do the block stitch.

This is the pattern I have followed after the rounds of dc's with multiples of 3 .

[dc in each stitch around(black color)
Join with sl st.
With Peach, *(ch 1, sc in the dc, ch 2)*, skip 2 dc's
repeat * to * around.
Join with sl st ]
Repeat [ to ] till desired height.
Then made 3 rows of hdc in black colour.
2 row of hdc in peach colour.
1 row of sc in black colour.

Yarn used : 4 ply Acrylic yarn
Hook : 4 mm hook
Handle: From Pradhan(It's out of stock now).  You can purchase a similar one from here.

  2. Black and a contrasting colour always make a stylish, elegant combination. High fashion! I hope your eyes did not suffer too much.
